They can also be used to anchor or stabilized dentures. Not every dentist has training and experience in Implant dentistry. In fact, many dentists received no formal training in Implant Dentistry while they were in dental school. Thus, it is important to find a dentist with proper post-graduate training and experience in this new and exciting area of dentistry.
Dental Implants are placed by a dental surgeon into the jawbone following careful study and planning. This study and planning should minimally include: Photographs of your teeth, smile and mouth, x-rays of your teeth and jawbone, molds of your mouth / jaw bones, and a functional analysis of how your upper and lower jaw inter-relate.

The All-On-Four technique now allows us to place implants as well as replacement teeth in the very same day. This has been made available by advancements in CT scanning and computer aided analysis. It is a method first developed in Europe about 20 years ago and has proven to be successful in many cases world-wide.
Dr. Henny was the first dentist in southwest Virginia to offer the All-On-Four technique in 2006 and has had a number of successful outcomes with this approach.
